That's wonderful. It has really opened up my horizon in printing sales. Most printers miss it mostly due to missed delivery dates which normally follow disgracing excuses.

Thank you for sharing the perfect sentiment for what I believe will be a perfect new year. A most thought provoking story...

What visually spoke to me (and became top of mind) was the statement by the older gentleman, “The problem with this stuff (texting and social) is that I cannot see your heart.”

There is no doubt that in today's always plugged-in, email addicted, text messaged, video obsessed, social media driven world many have overlooked the value of face to face networking and the importance of a handshake.

Mark, we are definitely on the same page (no magazine pun intended). Business success in today's evolution of new marketing is about connecting on a deeper level. And the best way to accomplish that is to build relationships on trust and respect.

Wishing you and your community memorable adventures and measurable success in 2012.

Interesting article. What are the predictions? Slow economy. Print is not dead. Increasing competition from China and India. Republican in office. Anything else I missed?

Thanks for reading Greg. I think you may have misunderstood the story. I most certainly didn't ditch my civic duty. I would never blow off my responsibility. I was excused.

Having been chosen for jury duty 3 times in 4 years, I was not disappointed at my release. I am the owner of a small business that employs people and is trying to champion an industry. That, to me, is much more important work than sitting on a jury determining if two kids smoked pot. And taking up a spot on the jury, when there were unemployed people who could use the money seemed like another benefit of me being excused.

Regardless of my opinion, I was there each day fulfilling my duty. I am no saint, but I most certainly didn't ditch my duty. Thanks again for reading.

All the best

Mark,

Not following the herd is a great concept to remind us of. Demonstrating it by ditching your civic duty...not so cool.

Not like you to go two steps back in trying to take one step forward.
